Kindness paid forward

I wish to express my deepest appreciation to the very kind lady who so generously paid the entire bill for the groceries I purchased from the Meijer store on Illinois Road on Sept. 5. I also want her to know I have already paid the entire amount forward to a very deserving individual.

Fears of fascism are far overblown

I am an 81-year-old retired educator, and I was deeply affected by the Sept. 10 op-ed from retired attorney Jim Boeglin. His piece was a call for good citizens to be prepared to repel the efforts of a cabal of fascists who have “gained control of much of the machinery of governance.”
