ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Ahead of the annual Bikes, Blues & BBQ rally, first responders across Rogers are preparing to deal with an influx of visitors.

According to Battalion Chief Chase Sutherlan with the Rogers Fire Department, over 300,000 people are expected to make their way to the area.

"There's going to be, upwards of 80,000 additional motorcycles in the area, and over the course of the event, 300,000 people," Sutherlan said. "It requires ... city assets, regional assets, but also state assets, to accommodate those larger numbers."

Cpl. Don Lisi with the Rogers Police Department says preparation for an event of this size begins months in advance.

"Everybody knows we're going to have a big influx in motorcycles and people visiting," Lisi said.
