Following a theft at North Qualicum business, Oceanside RCMP report they arrested a 50-year-old man who was, at the time, wanted on several arrest warrants and found in possession of weapons and ammunition contrary to court-ordered conditions.

Sgt. Shane Worth of the Oceanside RCMP said that on Sept. 18, a North Qualicum retail store reported the theft of various items from their business. Investigators identified a suspect who was believed to be living in a makeshift camp.

In the early morning hours of Sept. 26, the 50-year-old suspect, Mark Caillou, was arrested at his camp located off the Lockwood Forest Service Road in Whiskey Creek. A search of the camp located a loaded firearm, ammunition, magazines, bows and body armour.
