KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — For most of her life, Rosa Paschal has called Lonsdale home. But two years ago, a tree crashed through her house, splitting it in two and destroying nearly everything inside.

The tree landed in her bedroom. Paschal says if she had been home at that moment, she might not have survived.

“I’d of been dead, they would’ve been picking a tree up off of me,” Paschal said.

With her fully paid-off home no longer livable, Paschal moved into an apartment with nothing to take with her.

“When they picked up the tree, I didn’t have nothing,” she said.

Now, she’s starting over in a brand-new house built on the same property she once shared with her late husband.

“I’m happy. It makes my day. I got a piece of mind,” Paschal said.
