GRAND FORKS — A modern take on the Willy Wonka story is coming to the Empire Theater, blending classic songs with new surprises and giving young and seasoned actors a chance to share the spotlight.
Opening night is Thursday, Oct. 2, for "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" with performances running through Oct. 4 and Oct. 9–10 at 7 p.m., plus Sunday matinees on Oct. 5 and 11 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at the door or by calling (701) 746-5500.
The cast ended their final dress rehearsal just minutes before opening, following grueling four-hour rehearsals each day. The production features iconic songs from the 1971 classic as well as new songs.
