COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The Northside Patriots took on the Warhawks on Wednesday Afternoon.

The game started with a bang in the top of the second inning when Northside’s Whitley Sikes made a fantastic catch and threw to first for a double play, shutting down the Warhawks’ scoring chance. This big defensive play kept the score at 0-0.

Northside then took the lead with some smart hitting. Raelyn Warren hit a blooper that brought in Addie Renner and Layla Phelps, putting the Patriots up 2-0. This gave Northside an early advantage in the game.

However, the Warhawks quickly turned the tables in the third inning. Rizzy White hit a massive grand slam, instantly giving the Warhawks a 4-2 lead.

The Warhawks would ultimately run away with the game, winning it 12-5.
