ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta begins in just a few days, and the city is making its final preparations for the big event. For the first time, Balloon Fiesta Park will have flushable toilets, and other areas now have plumbing installed to build more restrooms in the future.

The city also improved electrical lines along vendor row and added the high-speed fiber optic network to bolster public safety. 500 new parking spaces will also be available.

The Albuquerque Police Department will also be out patrolling the ground, and has changed how it handles traffic in recent years.
