It meant six wins and your team qualifies for the playoffs. In past years, the first mutterings of that each season would always come in Week 6, which is where we are now.
Six wins and you're in is no longer the case necessarily for high school football teams. There are computer playoff points involved now, plus strength of schedule. Teams can get into the playoffs these days with five wins, even four if they play teams in divisions ahead of them all season. And, some teams can get six wins and not make it to the playoffs, if the schedule doesn't cooperate.
