One thing still missing from Shohei Ohtani 's long list of accomplishments is that he has never pitched in a postseason game. That will change soon after the Dodgers announced he will start Game 1 of the National League Division Series against the Phillies on Saturday in Philadelphia.

Ohtani posted a 2.87 ERA with 67 strikeouts and only nine walks over 47 innings while making 14 starts during the regular season. He will be the first player in MLB history to start at least one game as pitcher and at least one as a non-pitcher in a single postseason.
