Del City Police Chief Loyd Berger has been placed on administrative leave after complaining publicly about budget cuts in his department, Mayor Floyd Eason said.

Eason said earlier reports that Berger had been given leave were inaccurate. On Saturday, Sept. 27, Eason told The Oklahoman that Berger had left a budget meeting upset the day before, but that the chief was still on the job.
