For 12-year-old Bryson, being sworn in as an honorary NSW Police officer and heading his very own investigation in the heart of Sydney is a wish come true.

Aged 3, he was diagnosed with a form of childhood brain cancer called medulloblastoma.

While in remission, he recently underwent surgery to remove lesions and has since been diagnosed with Gorlin syndrome, a rare genetic condition that increases the risk of basal cell carcinomas.

"It's hard for a 12-year-old boy to have to endure, it's hard for any child to endure,"

his mum Tamara Miles said.

"It sort of feels like there's no end in sight now. It's going to be just until we get to a point where something stabilises."
