Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt has named a new halves pairing along with a surprise in his pack for James Slipper's farewell Test in Perth on Saturday.

Jake Gordon and Tane Edmed form a fresh playmaking duo in place of Tate McDermott, who has a serious hamstring injury, and James O'Connor, who is dropped to the bench after a patchy performance in the loss in Auckland.
