New information was revealed following Buchanan’s October 1 court appearance.

According to court documents, Buchanan and his cousin were removed from the party for allegedly assaulting a woman. This incident took place hours after the game.

Eyewitness video captured the moment when Buchanan allegedly struck 19-year-old Sone Falealo in the head with a pistol and then shot him in the stomach.

Buchanan and his cousin fled to Seattle, where they were arrested.

Whitman County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Dan LeBeau said Seattle police found Buchanan hiding in his sister’s car.

Buchanan’s attorney told the judge that Buchanan was rushing to get his cousin to the hospital, 36 hours after the incident.
