In a big step, the Maharashtra government has allowed the establishments in the state to operate 24 hours a day, to boost business and enhance the experience of night-life for the people. The order, issued by the Industries, Energy, Labour and Mining Department through a circular, mentioned that all the shops to operate 24×7.

The only exception are businesses that serve alcohol like permit rooms, beer bars, and wine shops, reports said.

The decision comes at a time when many locals were complaining about police personnel and authorities troubling them from operation in the night.
