Many people protest for the freedom of Palestine, while others donate money or share messages on social media - but this Australian is doing her bit in the bravest way possible.

Tasmanian Madeleine Habib is heading to Gaza shores aboard a 66-metre vessel, the Conscience , as captain of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine .

Ms Habib and the more than 90 other passengers plan to deliver aid to Palestinian civilians and create a humanitarian corridor for medics and journalists on board to safely do their jobs in the war zone.

Ms Habib helped prepare the Global Sumad Flotilla before convoys departed in August and September, with multiple vessels since intercepted by the Israeli Defence Force.
