The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) announced on Thursday that floodwater inflows into the Krishna and Godavari rivers have started to diminish.

APSDMA's Managing Director, Prakhar Jain, reported that both inflow and outflow at the Prakasam Barrage in the Krishna River, Vijayawada, recorded over 4.7 lakh cusecs by 6:30 am.

Although the initial level warning persists at the Prakasam Barrage, upstream inflows in the Godavari River have decreased, according to Jain. At the Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage in Dowleswaram, East Godavari, inflow and outflow levels stood at over 12 lakh cusecs. Residents are advised to stay vigilant until floodwaters recede fully.
