Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has been hospitalised in Bengaluru after he complained of fever and leg pain.

Priyank Kharge, Karnataka Minister and son of the Congress chief, made a post on X saying, "Sri Kharge was advised a pacemaker to be implanted and is admitted to the hospital for the planned procedure. He is stable and doing well."

Kharge, 83, was admitted to MS Ramaiah Hospital, Bengaluru, where he is undergoing treatment.

Sources said that the hospitalization is just a precautionary measure, considering his age.

The veteran leader is under observation, and his condition is currently stable.
