New Delhi: The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has announced the postponement of the proposed Bharat Bandh against the Waqf Amendment Act, which was earlier scheduled for October 3.
According to the Board, the decision was taken after reports indicated that major religious festivals of fellow citizens are falling on the same dates in some states. An emergency meeting of the AIMPLB office bearers was convened under the chairmanship of Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, President of the Board.
Following a detailed review, it was unanimously decided to defer the bandh.
“Therefore, the Bharat Bandh announced for 3rd October stands postponed. Insha’Allah, new dates will be announced shortly,” the Board stated.
