The SEBI Investor Survey 2025 has revealed that a few people invest in securities despite a massive jump in awareness. It said that nearly 10 per cent of Indian households invest in securities versus 63 per cent being aware of at least one market product. The nationwide survey, released on Tuesday, was conducted in collaboration with the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) and market infrastructure institutions including NSE, BSE, NSDL and CDSL, covered over 90,000 households across 400 cities and 1,000 villages, is one of the largest household surveys of its kind. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) survey said that urban participation in securities stood at 15 per cent compared to only 6 per cent in rural areas.
