×Sports wagering returned north of $500 million during the month of August in Virginia, finishing at $510.17 million, according to a Wednesday report from the Virginia Lottery.
That is 22.4% higher than in August 2024 and an increase of more than $80 million over the $429.27 million wagered during July 2025, lottery figures show.
The state’s 14 authorized mobile operators continue to represent the overwhelming majority of wagers placed, with $506.27 million, compared to $3.9 million for the state’s three brick and mortar casino sportsbooks.
Bettors collected more than $447.29 million during the 31 days of August – including $444.35 million from mobile operators and $2.94 million from casino sportsbooks, the report shows.
