Heavy rain triggered destruction amid Durga Puja festivities in several parts of Assam. In a hair-raising incident, an auto-rickshaw driver narrowly escaped death after a giant hoarding collapsed on his vehicle. According to viral social media posts, the incident unfolded in Silchar district.

The footage captures the moment the hoarding—attached to a Durga Puja welcome board—fell on the auto-rickshaw. The video begins with onlookers bracing themselves for the destruction when an auto-rickshaw drives in and stops near the incident site. On receiving loud warnings, the driver quickly vacated his vehicle while the hoarding collapsed, entirely crushing the auto-rickshaw . The driver then crawls his way out of the mayhem while onlookers screech.
