BENGALURU: The driver of a tipper truck, which had run over a college student a few days ago, has been arrested by the Avalahalli police. The accused was identified as Gerald Mandal.

Dhanushree (21), who was headed to her college on a two-wheeler, hit a pothole and fell on the road only to be run over by the tipper near Budigere Cross around 8.50 am on September 29. The police tracked down the vehicle and its driver based on CCTV footage.

Dhanushree was a second-year BCom student at a private college. She was heading to college when she lost control after hitting a pothole. The Avalahalli police had registered a hit-and-run case.
