Former Chikwawa Nkombezi legislator Abida Mia has strongly denied allegations circulating on social media that link her to the removal of an electricity transformer in the area following the September 16 parliamentary elections.

Speaking to local media, Mia clarified that the transformer was replaced by The Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) due to its inability to meet the growing power demands of the community, and emphasized that she had no role in the decision or process.

She also dismissed additional claims suggesting she had seized a motorcycle ambulance from Chiphwaila Health Centre and another government vehicle from Thelele.
