The greatest rivalry in baseball has one more twist left in it this week. After splitting the first two games of the AL Wild Card, the Yankees and Red Sox will square off Thursday night in a winner-takes-all Game 3 in the Bronx.
Boston drew first blood with a Game 1 win at Fenway, only for New York to respond with a 4-3 win in Game 2. Ben Rice got New York rolling with a two-run homer in the very first inning, and Aaron Judge added an RBI single later. Boston’s Trevor Story fought back hard with an RBI single and a solo home run, but Red Sox starter Brayan Bello imploded early, lasting just over two innings.
