OURFest, Philadelphia’s National Coming Out Day festival, is back on Oct. 12 with a day-long event that runs 12 p.m.-7 p.m. But the festivities are starting early this year — with a week of new events happening across the city to kick off LGBTQ+ History Month in a way that celebrates today’s queer community, cultivates belonging, and looks ahead to a brighter future.
“Coming out in 2025 is still an act of resistance,” said Tyrell Brown, the founder and executive director of Philly Pride 365 — the organization that cultivates the event. “This year’s theme reminds us that we must show up for each other loudly, lead from the front, and take pride not just in who we are, but in how we care for and protect one another. OURfest is about reclaiming joy and amplifying our collective power.”
