The boys soccer season for Greensboro area high school teams has reached the stretch run. Here is a look at the top squads.
Caldwell (10-3, 5-2) The Eagles are third in the Piedmont Triad Athletic Conference behind only Wesleyan Christian and Greensboro Day. Sophomore Walker Clark has led in scoring with 20 goals, while sophomore Griffin Adams and junior Alex Broyles have combined for 32 assists for a team that has 58 goals on 54 assists. They should be a top contender in the independent 2A classification.
Greensboro Day (12-3, 7-2) After losing 3-2 to Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill in the season opener, the Bengals defense has held every adversary but Wesleyan Christian to two goals or less, with six shutouts. Their only PTAC losses have come to Wesleyan.
