Two truck drivers have been hailed as heroes after dragging a man from a flaming car wreck in Adelaide’s north and saving his life with CPR.
The terrifying crash unfolded about 10.50pm on Wednesday on the Salisbury Highway when a silver Toyota Camry veered off the road and ploughed more than 100m through thick scrub, down an embankment, and into a creek.
The car exploded into flames moments later with the 25-year-old driver still behind the wheel.
Truck drivers John and his co-worker Riley were driving past when they spotted the blaze and leapt into action.
“The car was on fire, obviously trees got engulfed as well,” John told 7NEWS.
The pair scrambled through swampy terrain to reach the unconscious driver, battling mud and smoke to pull him free.
