MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) has confirmed 10 new measles cases in the Twin Cities metro area since September 29.
This brings the state's total to 18 cases for the year, all among unvaccinated individuals.
Health officials are urging families to update their immunizations, especially if they plan to travel. Seven of the recent cases were related to domestic travel within families, while three were linked to international travel.
Measles cases have surged in the U.S. in 2025, with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) confirming over 1,500 cases, the highest since 1992. Three measles-related deaths have also been reported this year.
