Punjab PWD ramps up road, bridge works across schemes; minister details progress, targets

The Punjab Public Works Department is accelerating road and bridge development under multiple schemes to strengthen connectivity and support growth across the state, Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh E.T.O. said in a status update.

He said notable completions and allocations span NABARD, item 5054 RB-10, bridge works, and CRIF, with construction and upgradation targets set for 2025-26 alongside measurable on-ground progress.

Key scheme-wise highlights

NABARD: 279.64 km of roads and 8 bridges were completed in 2024-25 at a cost of ₹104.28 crore; for 2025-26, ₹192 crore has been earmarked for 125 km, of which 14.50 km stand completed at ₹18.13 crore.
