More than 70 passengers and crew aboard Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas fell ill from a norovirus outbreak during a 13-night cruise that left San Diego on September 19 and was scheduled to arrive in Miami on October 2, 2025. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Vessel Sanitation Program (VSP) was notified on September 28 and is remotely monitoring the ship’s response after 71 passengers and one crew member reported symptoms including vomiting and diarrhea.
