Hassan, Oct 2: A long stretch of public holidays around Dasara has triggered a major exodus of travellers heading towards tourist and religious destinations, resulting in a severe traffic jam on National Highway 75 near Shiradi Ghat in Sakaleshpura.
Thousands of vehicles are moving in both directions between Bengaluru and Mangaluru, leading to long queues of stranded traffic stretching for several kilometres.
Many motorists have reported being stuck for over half an hour, with little to no movement. The situation has left tourists, families, and daily commuters frustrated, with some stepping out of their vehicles as the congestion shows no signs of easing.
