The Princess of Wales took a turn in the cockpit to experience flying an RAF Typhoon jet, marking a Royal first during her special outing today.

Dressed in a professional grey Bella Freud suit, Kate journeyed to Lincolnshire to visit RAF Coningsby - this being her inaugural visit to the base since she assumed the role of its Royal honorary air commodore over two years ago. During her visit, the princess was given an overview of the recent operations undertaken by the staff stationed there, including overseas operations to Poland in support of NATO forces in the region.

She also gained knowledge about the Quick Reaction Alert Typhoon aircraft and visited the Typhoon Future Synthetic Training Facility, which offers training environments for pilots. Eager to experience the plane herself,
