New Delhi: At least 10 people died on Thursday after a tractor-trolley carrying devotees returning from an idol immersion plunged off a bridge into the Abna river in Madhya Pradesh’s Khandwa district. Most of the victims are said to be children.

The incident took place near Jamali in Pandhana police station area of the district. More than 14 people are believed to have drowned. Many bodies have been recovered so far while search operations are underway to trace others who are missing.
