Fox News showed year-over-year viewership growth in the September ratings , while CNN and MSNBC saw significant audience declines.

In the 25-54 demo, all the major news networks saw declines in September and Q3. The caveat is that the comparison is to 2024, an election year, when viewership typically spikes.

In primetime in September, Fox News averaged 2.54 million viewers, up 1% from the same period in 2024, while MSNBC averaged 810,000, down 43%, and CNN posted 543,000, down 36%. In the 25-54 demo, Fox News averaged 280,000, down 14%, CNN averaged 87,000, down 52%, and MSNBC posted 68,000, down 59%.
