Motorists have come to a stop on the A50 for the second time today following a smash. The collision this afternoon has taken place on the eastbound carriageway near to the Normacot turning.

A live map from National Highways is reporting traffic has come to a halt from Sideway towards the scene of the smash. Meanwhile traffic monitoring system Inrix has warned of a 20-minute travel time.

The service, which first issued an alert at around 2.20pm, says the eastbound carriageway in Normacot is 'partially blocked'. In addition it's also slow on the westbound side 'as onlookers slow to view'.

It represents another incident on the A50 today. This morning and firefighters were sent to the eastbound carriageway near the bet365 Stadium where a campervan was on fire.
