ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A woman is in critical condition after being shot in north St. Louis City on Wednesday.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to North 20th Street and Ferry Street at around 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday for a call for a shooting. Officers found a 31-year-old woman who had been shot.

Emergency responders took the woman to a hospital, where she is in critical, unstable condition. Police say homicide detectives have taken over the investigation due to her condition.

A 46-year-old woman was arrested as a suspect.
