New Delhi: Defending champion Coco Gauff brushed aside unseeded Eva Lys 6-3, 6-4 on Thursday to enter into the third consecutive China Open semi-final clash. The world number three player will next face fellow American Amanda Anisimova, who is the third seed or sixth-seeded Jasmine Paolini of Italy.

Just after the start of the contest, Gauff began to dominate against the unseeded Lys of Germany winning the first set with ease. In the next, she was equally powerful and dominating but the German gave a fight to some extent but failed to continue her hard work as she finally succumbed in front of the bigger player.
