A 72-year-old man remains in hospital with potentially life-changing injuries after being hit by a bus in Thornaby . Emergency services were called to Mandale Road, near Thornaby railway station, at around 4.30pm to reports of a road traffic collision.

The Great North Air Ambulance attended the scene and the man was taken to hospital with paramedics by road ambulance on Wednesday, October 1. A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: "A 72-year-old man remains in hospital with significant injuries to his legs. His injuries are not life threatening, but potentially life changing."
