The Glenview Public Library’s next chapter includes more study rooms, more children’s place space and a vending cafe with fresh food. Renovations on the projects recently got underway.

The $1.756 million project, approved by the Glenview Library Board in July, kicked off Sept. 16, with work expected to continue through early 2026 in three phases.

The new additions were developed following a space needs assessment in 2023 and input received from a 2024 community survey in which 1,071 residents participated, the library said.

When complete, the project will add:

• Seven new study rooms for one to two people on the north side of the second floor. These rooms will help address demand for study spaces, as more than 700 reservations are made each month for the nine existing rooms, the librar
