Dozens of American flags flown for Donald Trump's state visit were replaced because they were the wrong shade of red - costing taxpayers £50,000.
The expensive cock up meant the Government's official flag supplier had to reprint hundreds of the US flags before the US President visited at £800 a pop.
Nick Farley, the supplier, said "cherry red" copies of the Stars and Stripes worth approximately £800 each were required for last month's visit, but the US had changed the shade of red used on the Stars and Stripes ahead of the v
