The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is no longer the only local festival that Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue close.

On Sunday evening, Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews and his band will be the final act on the main stage of the 2025 Gretna Heritage Festival, just as they are on the final Sunday of Jazz Fest each year.

Gretna's main music event is bit younger than Jazz Fest. It was founded in 1994, a full 24 years after Jazz Fest. Like Jazz Fest, Gretna Fest was canceled in 2020 or 2021 because of the pandemic.

Gretna Fest is essentially a county fair with three days of classic and/or modern rock, country, some form of soul/funk/R&B, and local favorites.
