The BBC has confirmed today (Thursday, 2nd October) that Steven Knight’s hit period crime drama Peaky Blinders will return.

The hit series, starring Cillian Murphy as Birmingham crime boss Tommy Shelby, will be back soon for two more seasons of six episodes each, releasing on both the BBC and Netflix.

The announcement comes more than three years after the series was believed to have wrapped up with the sixth series' finale back in April 2022.

Knight said in a statement: “I’m thrilled to be announcing this new chapter in the Peaky Blinders story.

“Once again it will be rooted in Birmingham and will tell the story of a city rising from the ashes of the Birmingham blitz.
