MOLINE, Ill. (KWQC) - The Moline Police Department is teaming up with the Moline-Coal Valley School District to host an internet and social media safety presentation for parents Thursday night.
The event aims to help families navigate the ever-changing online world, from new apps and trends to the growing impact of artificial intelligence.
Moline Police Detective Josh McManus said the goal is to give parents the tools and confidence to talk with their kids about what they’re seeing and sharing online.
“We’re going to cover everything from cyberbullying to sexting,” he said. “Sexual exploitation, sextortion kind of cases, cases that we’ve had here locally to kind of make it more of a personal thing.
