BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - The 44th Annual ‘Salute to the Military’ event, hosted by the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce, has been postponed due to the government shutdown.

The event was scheduled for October 7, 2025, at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino.

The Chamber says a new date has not yet been selected.

The government shutdown officially began Wednesday.

A prolonged government shutdown could also impact the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds air show in Biloxi set for November 1 and 2. Keesler Air Force Base officials confirm that during a shutdown, the Thunderbirds and other military demonstration teams do not perform.
