CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A Tennessee school system has announced a partnership to allow high school seniors to receive free CDL-A training.
The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System has partnered with Armored Trucking Academy of Clarksville to allow 12th-graders to apply for the CDL-A training program.
The program is a one-semester course that works to equip students with skills and opportunities to graduate with their CDL-A licensure, for free.
CDL stands for Commercial Driver’s License, and the training would be for Class A drivers, who operate vehicles weighing more than 26,000 pounds, and typically pull a trailer weighing more than 10,000 pounds.
