An agent of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives who shot and killed a high school student at a Beaver County apartment complex in September was justified in his actions.

That’s according to the findings of Beaver County District Attorney Nate Bible, who released his report on the incident on Wednesday.

The report says that Kendric Curtis, 18, fired first on Sept. 18 at an apartment complex located on Waugaman Street in Aliquippa.

According to TribLive, Curtis shot twice at the ATF agent using a 9 mm pistol before the officer returned fire.

The report says the agent shouted, “Show me your hands! Police!” before Curtis shot twice in their direction. The agent then shot Curtis once in the head.

Curtis was taken to a hospital, where he died the next day.
