With the US playing hard ball on rolling back import duties imposed on Indian goods, the Commerce Department is trying to expedite a decision on granting policy flexibilities to SEZ units. The focus is on enabling units to sell and purchase more easily in the domestic market but the Finance Ministry is yet to give its consent to it, sources have said.

While most other Ministries are on board on the matter, the Revenue Department is yet to give its concurrence. As soon as that happens, a decision will be taken,” a person tracking the matter told businessline .
