BROOKLINE, Mass. —
Massachusetts law enforcement said there are no credible threats to any synagogues, but they have increased patrols during the High Holy Days.
At Temple Ohabei Shalom in Brookline, police sit with their cruiser lights on, making their presence known.
Police said there are no known threats at this time for Yom Kippur, but given what occurred in Manchester, England, on Thursday, it's critical to stay in communication with religious leaders to offer support in any way they can.
"In light of what happened this morning, maybe everybody is a little bit, I don't want to say on edge, but just a little bit more aware of what can happen," Brookline police Deputy Superintendent Paul Campbell said. "It's a reminder that even in what's a safe community, things can happen."
