A truck driver who exited his rig after parking along the side of Interstate 78 in Hunterdon County on Monday was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver, authorities said.
Marshall Vizinat was standing along the right shoulder on the westbound side of the highway when he was hit at 7:55 p.m. near milepost 23.5 in Readington, State Police said.
The unknown vehicle didn’t stop after striking Vizinat, according to police.
Vizinat, 57, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
