DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office has arrested an elderly man on criminal sexual conduct charges.

Russell Joseph Dispenza, 81, is charged with two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

Sheriff spokesman Steven Wright said detectives with the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division alleged that Dispenaza had been sexually abusing the victim for over a year.

Deputies urge people to contact the Criminal Investigations Division at 843-832-0300 if a child was left alone with Dispenza.

He was booked at the L.C. Knight Detention Center, where he remains in custody.
